Liandrin rides to Jorin Arene's house in Amador, hiding her identity under a bonnet, and enters the withdrawing room to find Moghedien and the other Black Ajah sisters. She attempts to test Moghedien's shield with a minor channeling trick but is instantly overpowered and tormented by pain, forcing her to grovel and pledge fealty. After receiving orders to find Nynaeve al'Meara, she stands bound and silent with Asne and Chesmal while the others are dispatched.

Liandrin is present in Moghedien's sitting room. She attempts to probe Moghedien's shielding, is caught and immobilized by Air, and is compelled by Moghedien to live and serve as a scullery girl under the illusion of hope.
