Ihvon appears during the ambush to slay the Myrddraal that had cornered Perrin. He assesses the tactical situation, notes the absence of a Halfman, and leads the wounded survivors out of the waterwood, providing direction for their retreat.

Ihvon assists Perrin in dismounting and identifies the barbed nature of the arrow before being ordered out of the wagon by Ila.

Ihvon stands by the door when Perrin wakes, explains the presence of catapults to him in Emond's Field, and assists Perrin onto his horse along with Faile before traveling with the group to Emond's Field.
