Chapter 11 - What Lies Hidden
Summary
Egwene al'Vere prepares to enter Tel'aran'rhiod without her stone ring, relying on her growing skill to navigate the World of Dreams while her friends Elayne and Nynaeve keep watch. Stepping into the dream, she materializes in the Panarch's Palace in Tanchico and searches the halls, inadvertently triggering a painful reaction from a broken ter'angreal before leaving the palace. Her journey through the dream is disrupted by accidental jumps to the Aiel Waste, where she confronts a hostile Aiel woman who attempts to humiliate her with cadin'sor, a magic she unexpectedly reverses. After returning to the city, she flies over Tanchico before encountering Amys, a Wise One who recognizes her talent but warns her of the dangers of hunting in this realm and of a pervasive evil in Tanchico, urging her to come to the Three-fold Land for proper training before Egwene is abruptly pulled out of the dream.
