Walking through the corridors of the Stone of Tear, Berelain ignores Mat's formal greeting and attempts to pass him. Mat confronts her for her rudeness, and she mutters to herself as she walks away. Mat later tosses her a gold mark on a servant's tray, which she does not physically take but is acknowledged by.

Chapter 14 - Customs of Mayene

Berelain — aliases: First of Mayene, The First

Berelain enters Perrin's room to announce her departure for Mayene and attempts to seduce him by inspecting him and offering him a position in her court. She later confronts Faile in the corridor, mocking her social status and claiming Perrin for herself. She is forced to flee when Rhuarc intervenes, receiving orders to remain in her room as punishment for the disturbance.
