Aram rides behind Perrin and Faile. He points out the fighting at the goatpen and rides with Perrin to intervene. He guards Faile's back during the confrontation.

Aram waits on Perrin with silent devotion, offers insight into the farriers' embarrassment, and is instructed by Perrin to talk to the Cairhienin retainers to soothe their fears and make friends.

Chapter 30 - Beginnings

Aram rides on Perrin's other side, eyeing Elyas darkly but remaining silent, and later stands gazing at Masema with his mouth hanging open in the Prophet's meeting chamber.
