Chapter 16 - An Unexpected Offer
Galad — aliases: Child of the Light, young Galad
Galad appears at the inn wearing the white cloak and mail of a Child of the Light with two golden knots of rank. He informs Elayne of Siuan Sanche's execution and urges her to return to Caemlyn for her safety, remaining resolute in his duty despite his attraction to her. He is later seen watching the inn from across the street with Trom.
Chapter 25 - Dreams of Galad

A dream-illusion of Galad appears in the Amyrlin’s study, smiling and inviting Egwene to the Water Garden, demonstrating the seductive nature of the World of Dreams on her emotions.

Galad is observed by Juilin Sandacross the river in Samara, standing among Whitecloaks and Ghealdanin soldiers, confirming his presence in the area.
Chapter 39 - Encounters in Samara
Galad — aliases: Whitecloak
Galad follows Nynaeve, Uno, and Ragan through the streets of Samara, his snowy cloak and flaring sun emblem identifying him as the Whitecloak trailing them.
Chapter 40 - The Wheel Weaves

Galad tracks Nynaeve to an alley, confronts Uno and Ragan with a drawn blade but avoids drawing his own, and negotiates a promise to find a riverboat for them to reach Caemlyn, citing his duty and protection. He leaves Samara after Nynaeve agrees to his terms, unaware that she has not fully committed to going with him immediately.
Chapter 47 - The Price of a Ship

Galad arrives in plain clothes to inform the group that he secured the ship they needed, an act that triggered the riots. He explains his motives to Nynaeve and asks Uno to provide additional protection.

Galad
Galad leads the group out of Samara, fights in the mob battle with fluid grace, and pays the ship captain for everyone's passage, depleting his own purse. He warns Nynaeve and Elayne to stay away from Rand al’Thor before departing with his Whitecloak men.
