Chapter 12 - Tanchico or the Tower

Summary

Egwene awakens in Tanchico after a prolonged dream journey, prompting concern from Elayne and Nynaeve, and reveals her meeting with the Wise One Amys, who instructed her to travel to Cold Rocks Hold for training. Aviendha explains Aiel marital customs to the confused women, leading to a tense discussion about her potential marriage to Rand. Moiraine interrupts to announce the brutal deaths of the captured Black Ajah sisters Joiya and Amico and delivers a letter from four Wise Ones commanding Aviendha’s presence in the Three-fold Land. With Aviendha compelled to obey Rhuarc and depart, the group splits: Elayne and Nynaeve prepare to sail for Tanchico aboard a Maule ship to hunt the Black Ajah, while Egwene will accompany Aviendha into the Waste to learn from Amys.
