Egwene leads the interrogation of the Black Ajah prisoners, weaving shields and Air binds to restrain Joiya and Amico. She questions their tales of Liandrin's plots against Rand, internally debating the validity of Joiya's claim about Mazrim Taim versus Amico's rumors, and reflects on the growing difficulty of deceiving Aviendha regarding her true status as an Accepted.
Chapter 6 - Doorways

Egwene stands with Elayne, offering emotional support when the Daughter-Heir is upset and hugging her after confessing her platonic love for Rand. She reacts with wide eyes to Moiraine's revelation about the ter'angreal and its dangers, noting that the artifact offers three true answers but carries dire consequences for questions touching the Shadow. Egwene suggests asking the ter'angreal what the dangerous thing is regarding Rand, prompting Moiraine to explain the rules and history of the doorway. Egwene later participates in the discussion about Elayne's romantic prospects, suggesting that women in the Two Rivers show interest by putting flowers in a man's hair or embroidering a shirt, and expressing the view that Elayne must accept Rand's duties as the Dragon Reborn. Chapter 11 - What Lies Hidden

Egwene deliberately leaves her stone ring behind and enters Tel'aran'rhiod to search for the Black Ajah in Tanchico. She navigates the Panarch's Palace, suffers a painful magical feedback from a broken ter'angreal, and uses her will to change her clothing and reality. After being ejected into the Waste and reversing an Aiel woman's magic, she flies over the city until she meets Amys, who warns her of danger and urges her to come to the Three-fold Land before Egwene is forcibly removed from the dream.
Chapter 16 - Leavetakings

Egwene sits with Elayne and Nynaeve, dividing gold and discussing the dangers of the Aiel Waste. She criticizes Rand for being relieved by Elayne's departure and expresses concern for Egwene's safety before they exchange hugs and farewells.
Chapter 22 - Out of the Stone

Egwene rides beside Rand, questioning his decision to let Elayne leave and his reliance on the Portal Stone. She expresses anxiety about the danger of the journey and the strength of the angreal Rand uses, but ultimately allows him to proceed with his plan despite her doubts.
Chapter 23 - Beyond the Stone

She follows Moiraine into a tent for shade and water, where she listens to the explanation of Aiel customs and argues for Aviendha’s dignity. Finally, she accepts instruction from Amys on the nature of dreamwalking, promising to forget her Aes Sedai status to learn properly.
