Lan fights alongside Moiraine against Trollocs in a chamber below, displaying his skill in battle. He later appears in the hallway, bloodied and tense, and is halted by Moiraine when he tries to approach Rand. He assists a weakened Rand by holding him up and watches him warily as Rand recovers.
Chapter 22 - Out of the Stone
Lan — aliases: the Warder
Lan rides with Moiraine behind Rand, displaying his characteristic stoicism. He contributes to the discussion by noting that the Aiel have sharp eyes and that there are no cities in the Waste, contradicting Rand's source about a floating city. He mounts and follows the group to the location of the Portal Stone.
