Chapter 34 - He Who Comes with the Dawn

Couladin — aliases: flame-haired man

Couladin confronts Rand from a granite outcrop, accusing him of murdering Muradin and entering Rhuidean armed. He throws spears at Rand, which are blocked, but is forced to stand down by Bair’s threat of outlawry. He later stalks back to his tents with hate in his eyes. Rand is warned by Rhuarc and Lan about Couladin's ambition.

Chapter 36 - Misdirections

Couladin rides out from the Shaido to challenge Rhuarc's decision to escort the peddler, claiming the Shaido's superior numbers grant him the right. He is overridden by Rhuarc, who allows the Shaido to trade with the peddler while traveling with the Taardad. Couladin then declares that the Shaido will follow He Who Comes With the Dawn to Cold Rocks Hold, though he does not explicitly acknowledge Rand as that figure.

Chapter 49 - Cold Rocks Hold

Enters the hold arrogantly, insulted by Lian's refusal to treat him as a chief, and storms away in rage after Rand is honored.
