Chapter 1 - Lion on the Hill

Rand trains in sword forms with five opponents, utilizing the Void to manage the influence of Lews Therin Telamon within his mind. He interacts with Davram Bashere and the Andoran nobles, asserting that while he needs Aes Sedai, he will never trust them, before being informed of Mazrim Taim's arrival.

Chapter 2 - A New Arrival

Rand / Rand al’Thor — aliases: the Dragon Reborn, my Lord Dragon

Rand accepts Taim’s surrender but fiercely rebukes him for taunting Bashere and demanding a partnership. He receives the seal from Taim, nearly breaks it under Lews Therin’s influence before Bashere stops him, and then commands Taim to accompany him to the farm in Saldaea where the artifact was found.
