Chapter 1 - Leaving the Prophet
Perrin — aliases: my Lord Perrin
Strides out of Masema’s house and rides out of Abila with a mixed group of companions, ignoring the feverish stares of the Prophet's guards and the crumbling state of the city. He rides with Elyas, the Asha'man, the Aes Sedai, and the Wise Ones, expressing frustration over Masema's madness and his own need to trim his beard, while mentally dismissing strategic worries to focus on returning to Faile.
Chapter 2 - Taken
Perrin / Lord Perrin — aliases: Lord of the Two Rivers, Lord Captain
Perrin arrives at the camp to find Faile missing and confronts the standoff between the Winged Guards and the Ghealdanin forces. He asserts his command over Captain Arganda, dismisses Grady and Neald’s offer to Travel immediately, and is sharply rebuked by Nevarin for his lack of composure. He spends the night on a ridge with Tallanvor, waiting for tracks in the falling snow.
Chapter 5 - Flags
Perrin / Young Bull
Perrin wakes from a wolf dream in Berelain's tent, disoriented and hungry, while Berelain explains he was rescued from freezing and informs him of Masema's suspicious contacts with the Seanchan. He hastily dresses, ignores Berelain's flirtatious advances, and leaves to locate the Prophet's men, later surveying the camp with a grim focus on the consequences of his changed plans.
Chapter 6 - The Scent of Madness
Perrin / Perrin Aybara / Lord Perrin
Perrin coordinates the march of his combined forces toward the south, battling exhaustion and the tension caused by rumors about his conduct with Berelain. He asserts authority over Faile's followers and reacts to the news from the search party that Faile is alive but held by the Shaido, deciding to use Travel to close the distance. He encounters Masema and, perceiving the Prophet's madness, lies about appreciating his help before setting out.
