Min sits in Rand's throne room reading a book, anxiously waiting for his return and worrying about the interference of Sorilea and Cadsuane. When Rand arrives, she confronts his absence and they share a kiss before being interrupted by Dobraine. After he leaves, she watches as Merana and Rafela deliver the Sea Folk bargain, and later observes Rand's interaction with Cadsuane, noting the severity of the situation.

Min confronts Rand about his sullen behavior regarding Elayne and uses her viewing to confirm that the five penitent Aes Sedai will serve him. She guards the shielded Fedwin Morr in a cellar, then survives an explosion in the palace that destroys Rand's quarters and watches as Rand secretly kills Fedwin to protect him from the attacker.
