Faile stands by Perrin during the pledge, whispering the acceptance ritual for him. She then takes charge of the situation, privately confronting Alliandre with Berelain and Annoura. When Alliandre expresses fear that the Prophet could ruin Bethal or Jehannah if her oath becomes known, Faile manipulates the Queen into agreeing to travel south with them, presenting the journey as the necessary means to deal with this man personally and prevent the nobles from reporting her treason.
