Chapter 15 - Stronger Than Written Law

Egwene — aliases: Amyrlin, Mother

Egwene wakes to find Siuan and Bryne waiting, listens to the report of the advancing Andoran army, and secretly instructs Bryne to arrange a parley while hiding the news from the Hall. She later argues with Siuan about the necessity of the Three Oaths, sends Siuan to dispatch messengers, and reflects on the fates of former Amyrlins before returning to her tent alone.

Chapter 17 - Out on the Ice

Egwene rides at the head of the column, feeling the weight of her role and her impatience. She asserts her authority at the lake parley, declaring herself the legitimate Amyrlin and rejecting Elaida as a usurper. She negotiates the terms for the Aes Sedai's passage, securing a month's stay in Murandy and payment, while announcing the opening of the novice book to all who test true.

Chapter 19 - The Law

Egwene — aliases: Mother, Amyrlin Seat

Rides back to camp at a hard pace, later confronts the Hall by declaring war on Elaida and invoking the Law of War to assert her authority over the prosecution of the conflict.
