Chapter 2 - Two Captains

He wrestles with his dice warning and confronts Egeanin over command before visiting Tuon. After shaking her hand, the dice stop, and he learns of Tylin's death from a gholam. He later refuses Joline's plan to divert north and experiences a vivid vision of colors pointing to Rand.

Appears in a true dream bowling pins that are actually men, revealing a future possibility of mass slaughter orchestrated by an Illuminator.

Chapter 28 - A Cluster of Rosebuds

Mat

Navigates the slow pace of Luca’s show while managing anxiety over Seanchan patrols and an accidental marriage pledge, ultimately agreeing to complete the ceremony after a smile instantly silences internal dice warnings.

Chapter 29 - Something Flickers

Mat

Navigates anxiety over his accidental marriage pledge while shopping for silk with Tuon, discovers Egeanin stabbed by Renna, orders the show packed up immediately, and personally leads a pursuit that ends with him ordering Renna’s execution, which finally silences his internal dice warning.
