Chapter 2 - The Butcher's Yard

Dashiva, a middle-aged Asha'man, is selected by Rand to open a gateway. He nervously explains Taim's title and creates the gateway for the Asha'man to depart, appearing distracted and jittery.

Chapter 4 - Into Cairhien

Dashiva — aliases: Asha'man

Dashiva rides reluctantly behind Rand, muttering darkly and arguing against the danger of their approach without a gateway. He remains in Cairhien on the ridge with Darner Flinn while Rand proceeds into the palace, where the Asha'man channel to suppress the palace guards.

Chapter 18 - As the Plow Breaks the Earth

The Asha'man stands guard, appearing detached and murmuring to himself, but sneers at Cadsuane before she inspects him and dismisses him along with the others.

Chapter 34 - Ta'veren

Dashiva — aliases: Asha'man

Dashiva waits beside his horse in the courtyard, resplendent with his silver sword. He follows Rand to the ship, stands guard in the cabin, and later appears at the door when Rand leaves, appearing distracted and muttering to himself.

Chapter 36 - Blades

Dashiva — aliases: Asha'man

Dashiva enters Rand's room with Flinn, asserts Flinn's knowledge of healing, and stands guard by the bedside.

Chapter 41 - A Crown of Swords

Dashiva waits for Rand in the anteroom, channeling to prepare for the journey to Illian. He accompanies Rand into Shadar Logoth and later celebrates with the Asha'man as Rand is crowned King.
