Joiya Byir, uma antiga irmã da Ajah Cinzenta, está acorrentada pelo ar e pelo escudo enquanto é interrogada. Ela afirma ter se arrependido, mas apresenta um plano detalhado que Liandrin pretende usar para instalar Mazrim Taim como um Dragão Falso, com o objetivo de destruir Rand al'Thor, uma história que Egwene acredita ser uma mentira.

Joiya Byir, a former Gray Ajah sister, stands bound by air during the interrogation, watching Moiraine warily. She attempts to speak but is silenced by Moiraine's glare and is then escorted out by the guards, stepping quickly to avoid remaining in Moiraine's presence.
