Rolan hauls Faile through the snow and later carries her on his shoulder, slapping her to keep her awake and treat her like a mount. He later appears among the other algai'd'siswai who watched their captives, unbothered by the cold.

Rolan is seen among the Shaido carrying Faile earlier, and later exchanges flat-eyed looks with other men before following the Wise Ones and Sevanna away, leaving the prisoners behind.
