Siuan Sanche riceve il rapporto di Min sull'Aia Nera e sui progressi del Drago Rinato. Rivela che Egwene, Elayne e Nynaeve non si trovano in una fattoria ma sono in missione, e costringe Min a rimanere a Tar Valon, travestita da Elmindreda, per dare la caccia all'Aia Nera, rifiutandosi di lasciarla seguire Rand a Tear.

Siuan Sanche scolds Min for intruding, receives messages about Mazrim Taim’s escape and Rand taking the Stone, convenes the Hall of the Tower to recognize Rand as the Dragon Reborn, and dismisses Leane’s concerns about channeling males.

Chapter 47 - The Truth of a Viewing

Siuan examines administrative reports while anxiously awaiting news from Moiraine. She is deposed by Elaida al'Sharan, who strips her of the Amyrlin stole and channels a barrier to still her. Imprisoned in a dark cell, she is rescued by Min and Laras, dons plain clothes, and mounts the horse Bela. Outside, she encounters Logain and persuades him to flee with her, claiming she offers him a chance for revenge against the Red Ajah, and rides away from Tar Valon.
