Joiya Byir, una ex sorella dell'Ajah Grigia, è legata dall'aria e da uno scudo mentre viene interrogata. Afferma di essersi pentita, ma propone un piano dettagliato che Liandrin intende utilizzare per installare Mazrim Taim come un falso Drago, al fine di distruggere Rand al'Thor, una storia che Egwene crede essere una menzogna.

Joiya Byir, a former Gray Ajah sister, stands bound by air during the interrogation, watching Moiraine warily. She attempts to speak but is silenced by Moiraine's glare and is then escorted out by the guards, stepping quickly to avoid remaining in Moiraine's presence.
