Adelin leads the Maidens of the Spear, joking with Melindhra about teaching Mat and confronting Rand about his orders. She later reports that the Aiel chiefs are waiting to see him.

Chapter 22 - Birdcalls by Night

Adelin

Adelin appears before Rand after the battle, acknowledging the Maidens' failure to guard him properly. She presents her spear horizontally in submission, offering herself and her sister to his will, before Rand dismisses her to resume guard duty. He stalks away, the stony ground hard under his feet, and eventually stalks back into his own tent. Aviendha is in her blankets, with one slim, bare leg sticking out. He tries not to look at it, or her. She had left a lamp lit. He climbs into his own blankets gratefully and channels the lamp out before releasing saidin.
