Selande, wearing blue, leads the society members in greeting Rand, though she smells of fear until Rand addresses her directly. She reveals that Colavaere is in the Grand Hall and that Faile serves as one of her lady attendants, then declares the society's readiness to dance the blades for him.

Selande and her followers follow Perrin and Faile through the corridors, bowing and backing away when Faile sharply commands them to obey their husband and cease their foolishness.
