Chapter 13 - The Bowl of the Winds

Aviendha — aliases: Aiel, Taardad Aiel

Aviendha battles severe seasickness and the humiliation of being interrogated by the Windfinder and Wavemistress about Aiel private customs. She draws her knife to secure her position on the boarding plank and threatens the boatmen before climbing aboard. Overwhelmed by the Sea Folk's questions and the motion of the ship, she loses her composure and asks for a bucket.

Chapter 21 - Swovan Night

Aviendha — aliases: near-sister

Aviendha sits on the floor reading The Travels of Jain Farstrider and questions why Jaichim Carridin is not killed despite being a Shadow-runner. She later touches Elayne's knee to gently point out that she and Nynaeve have toh toward Mat, and agrees that an apology is necessary, siding with Elayne against Nynaeve's refusal.

Chapter 28 - Bread and Cheese

Aviendha — aliases: the Aiel woman

Aviendha accompanies Elayne and Nynaeve, standing with them as they agree to Mat's conditions. She turns into a third Ebou Dari woman disguise to accompany the group and nods approvingly at Mat's stricture.

Chapter 39 - Promises to Keep

Aviendha stands by the door wearing a silver-gray silk riding dress and a plain-sheathed knife. She watches the negotiations, suggests Rhuidean as a destination, and later promises to keep Elayne and the others safe until Mat returns.
