Elayne clings to Thom Merrilin during the rough wagon ride and later speaks coolly to the Whitecloak leader, asking about their political movement. She argues with Nynaeve about their conduct and suggests finding an inn in Mardecin, eventually apologizing to Thom after the confrontation.
