Chapter 1 - Lion on the Hill

Chapter 2 - A New Arrival

Rand accepts Taim’s surrender but fiercely rebukes him for taunting Bashere and demanding a partnership. Rand walks through Caemlyn with Bashere and Bael, discussing the political unrest and the arrival of two Aes Sedai. He finds two Aes Sedai, Alanna and Verin, at an inn with girls from the Two Rivers. When Alanna secretly bonds him, Rand reacts violently by lifting the Two Rivers girls into the air with the One Power. He then forbids the Aes Sedai from entering the Inner City under threat of being left shielded.
Chapter 11 - Lessons and Teachers

Rand travels rapidly to the farm, grappling with the psychic presence of Alanna bonded to him. He confronts Taim about Haslin's absence and the risks of Aes Sedai encounters, ordering Haslin's return and strict protocols for the students. He agrees to Taim's risky wager to recruit channelers from villages using gateways.
Chapter 14 - Dreams and Nightmares

A dream-manifestation of Rand, depicted with a coarse face and gold-embroidered red coat, emerges from fire in Gawyn's dream. He engages Gawyn in a sword fight, is slain, and his severed head rolls to rest at Egwene's feet before vanishing.
Chapter 15 - A Pile of Sand

In Egwene's dream, Rand walks toward a burning mountain while shattering seals on the Dark One's prison, and also appears as a dream-manifestation fighting Gawyn.
