Elayne interrupts the women's experiment to report on an embassy to Caemlyn, then meets with Min to discuss her feelings for Rand and the dangers of the situation.
Chapter 7 - A Matter of Thought

Elayne prepares for sleep and then enters Tel'aran'rhiod, where she helps guide Siuan and the other Aes Sedai through a nightmare that traps them in a Trolloc-infested cavern. She successfully convinces the trapped women to reject the nightmare's reality, saving their lives. After escaping, she travels to a dream version of Caemlyn, observes a monstrous new throne placed before the Lion Throne, and vows to bond Rand as her Warder.
Chapter 8 - The Storm Gathers

Elayne shares the details of the nightmare in Tel'aran'rhiod, teaches a class of novices, and later bursts into Nynaeve's room to report that a Red sister named Tarna Feir has arrived as an emissary from Elaida.
Chapter 12 - Questions and Answers
Elayne
Moghedien states that there are thousands of ways to spin wards and that it can take days to spin a hole through one, after Elayne reports hearing nothing from the Sitters' meetings, before leaving to teach a novice class while instructing Nynaeve to wear the a'dam bracelet for Moghedien's control.
Chapter 13 - Under the Dust

Elayne spends the day managing novices and worrying about Marigan, then argues with Nynaeve about the political situation. She is visited by Tarna Feir and resolves to stay in Salidar to influence the Hall. She joins Nynaeve in Tel'aran'rhiod, discovering a ter'angreal weather bowl and other treasures in Ebou Dar.
Chapter 14 - Dreams and Nightmares

Elayne helps Nynaeve manage the initial chaos of the nightmare attack, using her channeling to stabilize objects and assist the injured. She joins the linking circle, links with Anaiya, and is tasked with helping with healing efforts.
Chapter 15 - A Pile of Sand
Elayne
In Egwene's dream, Elayne forces Rand to his knees; in Salidar, Elayne observes Tarna's departure, argues with Nynaeve about sending a ter'angreal report, and is punished by being made to scrub pots.
Chapter 29 - Fire and Spirit
Elayne
Elayne reunites with Thom, listens to his reports about Morgase, and explains to Nynaeve that Birgitte has ordered Uno to prevent their escape, solidifying their decision to stay in Salidar.
Chapter 30 - To Heal Again

Elayne watches Nynaeve be hustled away by Sheriam and Myrelle. Later, she and Nynaeve discuss the political situation, and Siuan and Leane visit them to explain their weakened state and request further healing. Elayne worries about Rand's encounter with Elaida's embassy.
Chapter 36 - The Amyrlin Is Raised

Elayne embraces Egwene, discusses her relationship with Rand and the Lion Throne, and joins Nynaeve in explaining their discovery of a powerful ter'angreal in Ebou Dar, urging Egwene to send them on the mission.

Elayne reveals the existence of the a'dam and the captive Moghedien to Egwene, justifying their secrecy to protect the Forsaken from execution. She watches in awe as Egwene opens a gateway and later approaches Sheriam to plead for help in shielding Egwene from the Sitters' pressure, offering a ter'angreal ring to the Keeper.
Chapter 38 - A Sudden Chill

Elayne is present in the room with Egwene, wearing a green silk dress and a condescending smile. She watches in shock as Mat removes Egwene's stole and orders them to leave, wondering how Mat resisted the channeling attempt.
Chapter 39 - Possibilities

Elayne supports Egwene’s stance against Mat, confirms she will not go to Caemlyn because the ter'angreal in Ebou Dar is too important, and suggests taking Mat along to keep him close enough to monitor his cargo.
Chapter 40 - Unexpected Laughter

Elayne navigates the rumors surrounding Mat and the presence of Aviendha among the Aes Sedai. She speaks with Birgitte, who explains her fear of being recognized as a legendary figure. Elayne then retrieves Aviendha from five sisters and confronts her about her ji'e'toh regarding Rand, eventually agreeing to share her affection for him with Aviendha as long as they can become sister-wives.

Elayne rides out with Nynaeve, Aviendha, and the two white-haired Aes Sedai. She explains to Mat that opening gateways near villages is dangerous and a gateway to Ebou Dar opens for the party.
Chapter 47 - The Wandering Woman

Elayne demands Mat's ter'angreal, inspects his men and their supplies with icy authority, and attempts to assert her authority over the group, much to Mat's irritation and Nynaeve's visible displeasure.
Chapter 48 - Leaning on the Knife
Elayne — aliases: Aes Sedai, Green Ajah
Elayne attempts to smooth over tensions with Queen Tylin, apologizing for Salidar's actions and honestly explaining their mission to find a weather-controlling ter'angreal. She successfully wagers ten days to retrieve the object before Vandene and Adeleas can, laughing with Nynaeve as they leave the Queen.
Chapter 52 - Weaves of the Power

Elayne searches the Rahad disguised as a poor woman with Birgitte, encountering violence and a healing wilder named Asra, before spotting Mat and Nalesean searching on the other side of the river.
