Chapter 1 - High Chasaline

Loial — aliases: Ogier

Loial strides across the camp to Perrin, whispering urgently that the camp's tension is dangerous and that holding Aes Sedai is wrong. He asks Perrin if Rand is aware of the situation before nodding reluctantly at the lack of an answer.

Chapter 2 - The Butcher's Yard

Loial

Loial observes the grim scene, warns Perrin to be careful with the Aes Sedai, and later rushes to Rand to ask for an interview for his book about the Dragon Reborn, which Rand postpones.

Chapter 3 - Hill of the Golden Dawn

Loial follows Rand through the gateway on foot, carrying his engraved axe. He attempts to comfort Perrin regarding Faile's safety and expresses disbelief to Perrin when Aram predicts fighting, though he is startled by Perrin's frustration with the Pattern.

Chapter 4 - Into Cairhien

Loial rides beside Perrin, attempting to lighten the mood with humor about his relationship with Erith, which causes him embarrassment. He insists on accompanying Rand to Cairhien to continue his book and follows the group into the palace.

Chapter 5 - A Broken Crown

Loial follows the group into the Grand Hall, nervously peering into corridors and scribbling notes in his book with a large pen while propping his axe against his shoulder, surrounded by the tense atmosphere.

Chapter 27 - To Be Alone

Loial finds Perrin in the palace corridor, expressing sadness over Rand's behavior. He reveals plans to visit the steddings with Karldin and notes that Rand is pushing his friends away, then bids Perrin farewell with a warning about trust.
