Miss Hunt attempts to soothe a hysterical Pollyanna after the diagnosis is overheard. She refuses to let Pollyanna see Miss Polly immediately, offers a quieting powder, and listens in silence as Pollyanna despondently questions how she can continue her 'just being glad' game.
